Role of Amrutbhallatak Avaleha & Karanjadi Lepa in the management of Ekakushtha (Psoriasis)

Psoriasis is a skin disease having unknown etiology and of chronic nature. It is relapsing and so it is a problem for medical science also. Every year more than 9 million cases of psoriasis are reported in the world. The paper deals with the role of Amrutbhallatak Avaleha & Karanjadi Lepa in the management of Ekakushtha (Psoriasis) on more than 60 cases. The ingredients of the Avaleha are Bhallatak, Guduchi & some other herbal drugs. They are Kaphavataghna and Rasayana. All the ingredients of Karanjadi Lepa are Kandughna & Kushthaghna. The duration of treatment was 90 days and all the patients were kept under strict dietary control during the treatment. The observation of effect therapy was encouraging. The Amrutbhallatak Avaleha orally was used with Karanjadi Lepa externally have got a positive effect in comparison of placebo group, which had less recurrence. The effect of therapy is presented in detail in full paper with elaborate discussion & conclusion.
