Powdered bark of Ficus recemosa Linn. was found to contain an active glycoside along with sterols, hydrocarbons, sugars and amino acids. Bioactivaty studies on the glycoside constituent P - β - d glucosyloxy benzoic acid showed antiinflammalory, antacid and antibacterial activities.
